Kaizer Chiefs sign Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana on a free transfer

Kaizer Chiefs have strengthened their attacking options with the signing of Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana.

The 27-year-old joins the Soweto club on a free transfer after spending the past two seasons playing abroad, most recently with Tunisian giants Esperance Sportive de Tunis.

“Kaizer Chiefs have signed Bafana Bafana international Elias Mokwana,” the club said in announcing the move. “The talented winger joins the Club after gaining valuable experience in North Africa and the Middle East.”

Mokwana, who comes from KwaMhlanga in Mpumalanga, returns to South African football after leaving Sekhukhune United for Esperance Sportive de Tunis in 2024.

He arrives at Naturena after a successful 2024/25 campaign with the Tunisian side. Mokwana helped Esperance Sportive de Tunis win the domestic League and Cup double, contributing three goals and two assists in 25 appearances across all competitions.

The winger also won the Tunisian Super Cup in 2024, scoring in the final against Stade Tunisien.

His arrival gives Kaizer Chiefs another attacking option as the Soweto giants continue to reshape their squad.
