Mamelodi Sundowns v Golden Arrows: Confirmed line-ups for Carling Knockout quarter-final

Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows begin the Carling Knockout quarter-finals at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00.

Sundowns arrive in confident mood after beating Durban City in Rustenburg on Saturday, a result that kept them at the top of the Betway Premiership table.

The Brazilians have won three of their past five matches in all competitions. Their only defeat of the campaign came against Golden Arrows in the first leg of the MTN8 semi-finals.

That setback was later overturned by Mamelodi Sundowns, who went on to lift the MTN8 trophy in Durban. They have also beaten Golden Arrows in a Premiership fixture this season, making Tuesday’s match the fourth meeting between the sides this term.

Sundowns’ route into the last eight was secured in a tense match last Tuesday, when they recorded a 1-0 victory over Marumo Gallants FC.

Golden Arrows, meanwhile, have endured a slow start to the season. The club recently parted company with Pitso Dladla and appointed Mandla Ncikazi as his replacement.

Ncikazi’s first match in charge ended in a narrow defeat by AmaZulu in Saturday’s KwaZulu-Natal derby.

Golden Arrows have named Msibi in goal, with Jiyane, Msomi, Agnikoi and Sithole forming the defensive line. Shezi, Maluleke and Maxwele are included in midfield, while Dion, Gasa and Zwane start in attack.

The Arrows substitutes are Mbanjwa, Mabaso, Barry, Nguse, Khumalo, Van Neel, Karelse, Cele and Moli.

Mamelodi Sundowns’ starting XI has yet to be announced.
