Barcelona have the most productive attacking partnership in Europe, with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha combining for 43 direct goal contributions in 14 matches this season.
The pair have scored 29 goals and provided 14 assists across 11 La Liga matches and three UEFA Champions League games, according to Sport.
Raphinha has contributed 17 goals and three assists in 12 appearances, while Yamal has scored 12 times and created 11 goals in 14 matches.
Those figures do not fully capture the influence both players have on Barcelona, but they underline their importance to the team. Raphinha’s absence is therefore a recurring problem, while Yamal’s involvement in every game has become similarly significant.
Yamal leads the pair for chances created, with 48 in total – twice Raphinha’s tally of 24, according to Stats. However, the Brazil international also makes a major contribution without the ball through his pressing and movement, giving Barcelona additional attacking options.
In La Liga, Raphinha is the leading scorer with 15 goals, while Yamal tops the assist chart with seven and has also scored 10 times. Together, they have been involved in 25 of Barcelona’s 46 league goals – more than half of the club’s total.
Barcelona duo ahead of Champions League rivals
A comparison with attacking partnerships at other major European clubs, all of which are competing in the UEFA Champions League, further highlights Barcelona’s numbers.
At Bayern Munich, Harry Kane and Olise have scored eight goals each in the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League, giving them a combined total of 16. That is 13 fewer goals than Yamal and Raphinha.
Kane and Olise have also supplied 12 assists between them, compared with 14 for Barcelona’s forwards. Their combined total of direct goal contributions stands at 28, while Yamal and Raphinha have 43.
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has scored 13 goals and Rayan Cherki five, giving the pair 18. Real Madrid have the same total, with Kylian Mbappe scoring 15 and Arda Guler three.
The gap remains evident when Barcelona are compared with other leading clubs. At Paris Saint-Germain, Ferran Torres and Ousmane Dembele have scored 11 goals combined, the same total as Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram at Inter Milan.
Barcelona are particularly well served because both of their forwards have passed 10 goals, while continuing to create danger for opposing defences.
Outside Europe’s five major leagues, several other partnerships have also produced strong numbers, although none match the scoring output of Yamal and Raphinha.
For Club Brugge, Tressoldi has scored 12 goals and Hugo Vetlesen six, taking their combined tally to 18. At Sporting Lisbon, Luis Suarez has scored 12 and Geny Catamo two, giving them 14 goals together.
