Barcelona monitor Paris Saint-Germain teenager David Boli as contract decision approaches
Paris Saint-Germain are on high alert as they try to secure the future of 17-year-old right-back David Boli, amid growing interest from clubs elsewhere in Europe.
Boli is regarded as one of the leading prospects in the Paris Saint-Germain academy, according to a report published by AS on Monday. His current contract runs until 2027, but he has not yet signed a professional deal with the club.
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made the teenager a highly attractive financial offer as they seek to prevent him from leaving. However, Boli is said to have one main condition before committing his future: he wants greater opportunities to play in Ligue 1.
The young defender has been training with the first team under Luis Enrique, who has urged him to remain patient while suggesting a senior opportunity could be close.
“He trains with us every day and has become more comfortable… It is time to give him a chance to play. He has made significant progress,” Luis Enrique said.
Boli’s development has attracted offers from other European clubs, increasing the urgency for Paris Saint-Germain to reach an agreement with their academy graduate.
Barcelona are reportedly among the clubs monitoring the situation closely. Previous reports have said the Catalan club are hoping to sign Boli as a form of revenge against Paris Saint-Germain, who recruited Barcelona prospect Drew Fernandez last summer.
The French club are therefore facing pressure to settle Boli’s future before outside interest develops further, with the player’s desire for regular first-team football central to the negotiations.
