Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez says Manchester United rumours do not interest him

Fermin Lopez has dismissed reports linking him with a move to Manchester United during the upcoming winter transfer window, insisting he wants to remain at Barcelona for the rest of his career.

Italian journalist Matteo Moretto reported on Friday, via Radio Marca, that Manchester United were strongly interested in signing Lopez and Atletico Madrid midfielder Pablo Barrios.

Moretto said the English club were looking for a midfielder with the qualities of Lopez and Barrios, and had already made enquiries about both players’ situations.

Lopez responded firmly to the speculation, according to AS.

“Rumours about Manchester United? I am not interested in that kind of news,” he said.

“I want to stay here at Barcelona for as long as possible. I hope to end my football career at this club and retire here.”

The 22-year-old’s contract with Barcelona runs until the summer of 2031.

He has played 13 matches for the club this season, scoring six goals and providing six assists.

Manchester United are listed to play Roma in the Champions League on 03 November 2026, while Barcelona are scheduled to face Atletico Madrid in La Liga on 08 November 2026.
