Barcelona’s Yamal and Raphinha set the statistical standard for Deportivo Alaves test

Barcelona host Deportivo Alaves at Spotify Camp Nou on Saturday, 31 October 2026, with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha providing the headline numbers ahead of the La Liga meeting.

The match could also prove significant for Deportivo Alaves striker Lucas Boye, whose record against Barcelona represents the most persistent scoring problem in his first-division career. The Argentina international is his side’s leading La Liga scorer this season with five goals, but he has failed to score in each of his eight appearances against the Catalan club.

Boye has only gone longer without finding the net against two other opponents. He has played 10 La Liga matches against both Celta Vigo and Sevilla without scoring.

The figures were compiled by Opta, which also highlighted Yamal’s progress among the leading young scorers in Europe’s big five leagues. The Barcelona forward has scored 38 goals in 111 La Liga appearances.

Only Kylian Mbappe has scored more goals in those five leagues before turning 20 during the 21st century. Mbappe registered 41 goals in 79 matches, leaving Yamal four goals behind that total.

Raphinha, meanwhile, leads the scoring charts across the big five European leagues this season with 13 goals. He has reached that figure in just nine appearances, matching his entire La Liga output from last season, when he scored 13 times in 22 matches.

Deportivo Alaves manager Quique Sanchez Flores will be aiming to change a difficult personal record against Barcelona. He has not won any of his seven previous La Liga visits to face the club, drawing two and losing five.

His teams have also suffered defeats in each of their last four meetings with Barcelona. In four of those seven matches, the sides managed by Sanchez Flores failed to score.

The fixture forms part of the La Liga schedule for 31 October 2026, with Barcelona listed to face Deportivo Alaves. The following day’s listed fixture is Racing Santander against Real Madrid on 1 November 2026.
