Malick Diouf earns plaudit from Brentford manager

Brentford manager Keith Andrews has expressed confidence in the potential of Senegalese defender Malick Diouf, insisting the youngster has the qualities to become a brilliant signing for the Premier League club.

Diouf joined the Bees from West Ham United during the last summer transfer window and has quickly earned the admiration of his manager, who believes the 21-year-old has considerable room for improvement.

Despite his relatively young age, the Senegalese defender has impressed Andrews with his attitude and willingness to develop his game, prompting the Brentford boss to back him to reach greater heights at the club.

Andrews believes Diouf possesses the right mentality and technical qualities to make significant progress under his guidance, while expressing optimism about what he can offer the team in the coming years.

“He’s 21 years old. He’s got a very high ceiling. We knew that Malick had a very open mind towards developing his game and improving his individual way of playing. He will only get better for us and he will prove to be a brilliant signing,” Andrews said.

The Brentford manager’s comments underline the club’s confidence in the young defender, who is viewed as an important investment for the future.

Diouf has made five Premier League appearances since completing his move to the Gtech Community Stadium, as he continues to settle into life with his new teammates.

The Senegal international previously featured for West Ham United, where he made an impression with his attacking contributions, registering five assists last season.

With Andrews convinced of his potential, Diouf will be hoping to build on his promising start and establish himself as a key figure in Brentford’s defensive setup as the campaign progresses.
