Abdihakim Ali transfer: Minnesota linked with AIK midfielder in MLS move

Swedish-Somali midfielder Abdihakim Ali is being linked with a move from AIK to Minnesota in Major League Soccer.

Ali, 24, plays in central midfield for AIK, who compete in Sweden’s Allsvenskan. Minnesota are listed as the club interested in taking him to the United States, with the proposed move linking the Swedish top flight with MLS.

The transfer remains a rumour and there has been no confirmation that an agreement has been reached. The available details do not indicate whether negotiations have progressed or whether Minnesota have submitted a formal offer for the player.

Ali’s contract with AIK is due to expire on 31 December 2026, giving the reported link added relevance as the final year of his current deal approaches its conclusion. A move to Minnesota would see the midfielder leave AIK for an MLS side while still aged 24.

For now, Ali remains an AIK player and the potential transfer has not been confirmed.
