André Ayew opened the scoring with a header in the 10th minute, and Florian Thauvin added a second goal for Marseille in the 64th minute. However, Napoli secured victory with goals from Gökhan Inler in the 22nd minute and a double from Gonzalo Higuain in the 24th and 75th minutes. The defeat not only ends Marseille’s Champions League campaign but also diminishes their chances of qualifying for the Europa League.
