Sierra Leone is reportedly considering approaching Rhodri Giggs, the younger brother of Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs, to bolster the Lone Stars at the international level. Rhodri Giggs, 35, is eligible to play for Sierra Leone through his grandfather, who hails from the former colony established for freed slaves from America. Despite not reaching the same heights as his older brother, Rhodri Giggs has had a successful career, playing for United FC, which has experienced three promotions in the last seven seasons. The move is said to interest Giggs, opening the possibility of a European player representing an African national team. Sierra Leone recently appointed Irishman Johnny McKinstry as their coach.
