The local press has reported that Guinea is officially in the running to host the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in either 2018 or 2021. President Alpha Kondé’s country has formally submitted its application to the African Football Confederation for the organization of this prestigious competition.
Guinea joins the list of candidate nations, becoming the fourth to express interest in hosting CAN 2019 or 2021. The other contenders include Gabon, Zambia, and Algeria, reflecting the competitive landscape for the opportunity to host this significant football event.
