Al-Ahli Saudi have received a major boost before Thursday’s Roshn Saudi League fixture against Al Khaleej, with leading scorer Ivan Toney returning to training after missing the team’s previous match through injury.
Al-Ahli Saudi host Al Khaleej at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium in Jeddah in the 11th round of the competition. The club confirmed Toney’s return on its official X account on Wednesday, posting the message: “Back to finish what he started.”
The England striker was absent from Al-Ahli Saudi’s 3-2 victory over Al-Fayha on Monday after suffering a pelvic injury before the game.
Toney has been the standout performer for the Jeddah-based club this season. He has played 12 matches in all competitions, contributing to 12 goals, with 11 goals scored and one assist.
His return to training comes as he leads the Roshn Saudi League scoring charts. The 30-year-old has scored 11 league goals this season, putting him four ahead of Youssef En-Nesyri, the Al-Ittihad striker who is second in the standings.
