Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo joins new agency before January window

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has signed with LUPUS Sport ahead of the January transfer window, prompting renewed questions about his future at the club.

The 26-year-old has played only 75 minutes for the first team this season under new head coach Fernando da Cruz. His move to a new agency comes with just under two months remaining before the transfer window reopens.

Ngcobo has been regarded as a favourite among Kaizer Chiefs supporters since progressing into the senior side nine years ago. He was also widely viewed as one of the club’s most promising young players, although his career has not developed as expected.

LUPUS Sport confirmed the midfielder’s arrival in a statement welcoming him to the agency.

“Welcome Mshini – Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is a technically gifted, left-footed midfielder known for his excellent ball control, quick decision-making, vision and passing ability,” the agency said.

“Born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, Mshini developed through the youth structures at Kaizer Chiefs before being promoted to the first team in 2017. Since then, he has gained valuable experience competing at senior level.

“Welcome to the family, Mshini, we look forward to the journey ahead!”

Ngcobo joined the Kaizer Chiefs first team in 2017 and has since made 129 appearances for Amakhosi. He has scored eight goals and provided three assists during that time.

His limited involvement this season, combined with the appointment of a new representative, has led to speculation about whether his position at Kaizer Chiefs could change when the January window opens.
