CAF invites club managers for 2026/27 Champions League and Confederation Cup draw

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has invited team managers of clubs that qualify for the group stages of the 2026/27 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup to attend the draw ceremony in Cairo, Egypt, on 28 October.

The draw will be followed by a two-day workshop for the club officials on 29 and 30 October, as the continental football governing body prepares for the next phase of its two premier inter-club competitions.

The invitation is directed at managers of clubs that secure places in the group stages of the Champions League and Confederation Cup.

The draw will determine the group-stage opponents for the qualifying clubs, setting the stage for the battle for continental honours in the 2026/27 campaign.

The subsequent workshop, scheduled for two days, will provide an opportunity for club representatives to engage with CAF on matters relating to the competitions.

Holding the draw and workshop in Cairo will bring together officials from clubs across the continent ahead of the group-stage matches.

The CAF Champions League is Africa’s premier club competition, while the Confederation Cup serves as the continent’s second-tier inter-club tournament. Both competitions attract clubs seeking to establish themselves among Africa’s leading sides.

For the participating teams, the group-stage draw will be a significant step in their campaigns, with the identity of their opponents helping shape preparations for the matches ahead.

The workshop on 29 and 30 October will follow immediately after the draw, completing a three-day programme for the invited club managers.

Further details about the workshop’s agenda and the arrangements for the group-stage competitions have not been provided in the information available.
