Mohammed takes swipe at Besiktas president

Egyptian international Mohamed Salah has appeared to take a dig at Besiktas after Trabzonspor’s 2-0 victory over the Turkish giants in the eighth round of the 2026/27 Turkish Super Lig.

Trabzonspor secured an important win at Papara Park on Monday, with Salah finding the back of the net to help his side claim all three points against their rivals.

However, the Egyptian forward attracted attention off the pitch after sharing pictures of himself from the match on his official social media accounts, accompanied by a cryptic message: “35%.”

The post is believed to be a reference to recent comments by Besiktas president Serdar Adalı regarding the club’s failed attempt to sign the forward.

According to Adalı, negotiations over a potential deal for Salah broke down because of the commission reportedly demanded by the player’s agent, Ramy Abbas, which he claimed amounted to 35%.

Salah’s social media post appeared to revive the controversy surrounding those remarks, with the percentage figure seemingly serving as a pointed response to the Besiktas president.

The Egyptian’s message came on a memorable evening for Trabzonspor, as his contribution helped the club secure a significant victory over one of their major rivals in the Turkish top flight.

Although Salah did not provide further clarification about the post, its timing and the reference to the disputed commission have drawn attention to the failed transfer negotiations.

The incident adds another twist to the story surrounding Besiktas’ reported interest in the Egyptian star, whose performances continue to make him a major talking point in Turkish football.
