Amin Omar to referee Simba v 15 de Agosto in CAF Champions League

Egyptian referee Amin Omar will lead the officiating team for Simba’s CAF Champions League match against 15 de Agosto of Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday.

The second preliminary round first leg will take place at 15:00 Cairo time at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) referees’ committee appointed Omar as the referee for the tie. He will be supported by fellow Egyptians Ahmed Hossam Taha, who will serve as first assistant referee, and Samir Gamal, the second assistant.

Mohamed El-Tabie El-Ghazi has been named as the fourth official.

Simba and 15 de Agosto will meet again in the return leg on Sunday, 25 October. The two matches will determine which side progresses from the tie as the teams continue their pursuit of a place in the CAF Champions League group stage.

The preliminary-round fixtures will decide the clubs that qualify for the group stage of the competition.

The draws for the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup are scheduled to take place on 28 October at the National Teams Centre in Sixth of October City.
