Golden Arrows consider Mandla Ncikazi for coaching job as Pitso Dladla faces sack threat
Golden Arrows head coach Pitso Dladla is facing mounting pressure following the club’s disappointing start to the South African top flight, with former coach Mandla Ncikazi emerging as a leading candidate to replace him.
According to reports, the club’s management in Durban is increasingly unhappy with the team’s performances after securing just one win in their opening eight league matches.
The poor run of results has left Golden Arrows dangerously close to the relegation zone, raising serious concerns about the team’s direction and putting Dladla’s position under threat.
The club’s hierarchy has reportedly begun exploring possible changes in the technical team as it seeks to revive its campaign and steer clear of the relegation battle.
Ncikazi, 57, is understood to be among the leading candidates under consideration, with his experience and previous spell at the club making him an attractive option.
The tactician previously managed Golden Arrows during the 2020/21 season, guiding the Durban-based side to a historic fourth-place finish in the South African Premier Division.
He subsequently joined Orlando Pirates’ technical team, where he gained further experience working at one of the country’s biggest clubs.
Golden Arrows’ management is reportedly confident that Ncikazi’s familiarity with the club and tactical experience could help restore stability and improve results if a decision is made to part ways with Dladla.
However, no official decision on Dladla’s future or a possible appointment of Ncikazi has been confirmed.
