Egyptian international Omar Marmoush has expressed greater satisfaction with Tottenham Hotspur’s first Premier League victory of the season than with scoring his maiden goal for the club.

Marmoush opened his Tottenham scoring account as Spurs secured a 3-1 win over Coventry City on Monday, October 19, ending their winless start to the 2026/27 campaign after seven matches.

The Egyptian forward, who joined Tottenham on loan from Manchester City last summer, said securing all three points was the most important outcome after a difficult run of results.

“I am happier with the win than with the goal I scored, and with getting the first three points of the season,” Marmoush told beIN SPORTS.

He added that Tottenham had performed well in previous matches but struggled to turn their displays into victories, with their recent training camp helping strengthen the team’s unity ahead of the Coventry encounter.

“In the past matches we played well, but we did not come away with a win. The past period witnessed a rapprochement between all the players after the last camp,” he said.

Tottenham held a short training camp in Marbella, Spain, before facing Coventry, and the preparations appeared to pay off as they finally secured their first league victory of the season.

The result ended a frustrating opening seven games in which Spurs recorded three draws and three defeats before overcoming Coventry.

The victory lifted Tottenham from the bottom of the Premier League table to 16th place with six points, offering renewed hope as they seek to recover from their disappointing start.

However, Marmoush and his teammates will face another stern test on Saturday when they travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in a London derby that promises to be one of the standout fixtures of the eighth round.
