Azzedine Ounahi has suffered a complete tear to his right biceps femoris while playing for Panathinaikos and is expected to be sidelined for between two and a half and three months.
The injury is a significant setback for the Morocco midfielder, who had been building strong momentum during his recent run of form. His recovery period is likely to rule him out for the remainder of the calendar year and deprive Panathinaikos of his services for a substantial number of matches in Greece.
Ounahi’s absence will also affect the Morocco national team. The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign will continue without the midfielder during the November international break.
He will miss Morocco’s double-header against Niger, adding to the impact of an injury that has interrupted his progress at both club and international level.
