Al Ahly hopeful Aqtai Abdallah will return to training after rib injury

Al Ahly forward Aqtai Abdallah has suffered a rib injury, but there is optimism that he will be fit to train normally on Tuesday, according to FilGoal.com.

The 20-year-old is being assessed ahead of Al Ahly’s Egyptian League match against Al Qanah on Wednesday. The game is scheduled to take place at Cairo International Stadium in the seventh round of the competition.

Abdallah was not involved in Al Ahly’s 32nd-round first-leg match against Uganda’s Kitara FC in the CAF Confederation Cup because of a technical decision.

Before that, he missed the team’s Egypt Capital Cup fixture against Petrol Asyut while serving a suspension.

He was included in the squad for Al Ahly’s match against Zamalek, but did not come off the bench during the 2-0 victory.

Abdallah joined Al Ahly from ENPPI and has made three Egyptian League appearances for his new club, all as a substitute. He has yet to score or provide an assist.

Al Ahly are second in the league table with 16 points, two behind leaders Pyramids FC.
