Lamine Yamal sends cheeky message to PSG ahead of Barcelona showdown

Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has sent a playful message to Paris Saint-Germain ahead of Tuesday’s highly anticipated Champions League clash, adding extra intrigue to an already heated encounter.

The 19-year-old delivered his message through a video shared on teammate Jules Kounde’s Snapchat account as Barcelona travelled to the French capital on Monday.

Wearing sunglasses and smiling at the camera, Yamal confidently declared: “Paris, I’m coming!” His remark prompted laughter from Kounde, who appeared amused by his teammate’s cheeky challenge to the reigning European champions.

The playful exchange comes after PSG coach Luis Enrique offered a tongue-in-cheek assessment of how to defend against the Barcelona winger.

“The best way to defend Yamal is to have the ball,” the Spanish coach said, suggesting that keeping possession would prevent the youngster from causing problems.

Yamal will now have an opportunity to respond on the pitch when Barcelona face PSG in the third round of the Champions League league phase at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday.

The Spanish international has enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign, recording nine goals and 10 assists in 11 appearances. His performances have made him one of Barcelona’s most dangerous attacking weapons heading into the European showdown.

Barcelona will hope their young star can translate his confidence into another decisive display against a PSG side eager to protect its home advantage.

However, the Catalans have suffered defensive setbacks ahead of the match, with Koundé and Eric García ruled out through injury. PSG will also be without Nuno Mendes, potentially creating opportunities for Barcelona to exploit the space on the flanks.

Yamal’s message has added a little extra spice to the occasion. Whether he can back up his words with a match-winning performance will be decided when the two European heavyweights meet in Paris.
