Rasoanaivo says AS Port Louis 2000 face tougher task after Durban City defeat

AS Port Louis 2000 head coach Etienne Liva Rasoanaivo described his side’s 3-1 loss to Durban City as a valuable learning experience after the Mauritian club suffered defeat at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday.

The result leaves AS Port Louis 2000 with a difficult challenge ahead of next week’s return leg in Mauritius, where they must overturn a two-goal deficit against the Nedbank Cup champions.

Rasoanaivo said his young team had found the occasion demanding as they faced Durban City away from home.

The coach also highlighted the disruption caused by the journey to South Africa. AS Port Louis 2000 only arrived in Durban on Friday, leaving limited time to prepare for the match.

Rasoanaivo further referred to several difficulties affecting the club in Mauritius as he reflected on the team’s performance and the circumstances surrounding the defeat.

The second leg will take place in Mauritius next week, with AS Port Louis 2000 needing to improve significantly after conceding three goals in Durban.
