CAF Champions League: Esperance Tunis held by Al-Swehly at half-time

Al-Swehly SC and Esperance sportive de Tunis were level at 0-0 at half-time in their CAF Champions League 2026-2027 second preliminary round first-leg tie in Misrata, Libya, on Sunday 18 October.

The match marks Esperance sportive de Tunis’s opening game in the competition, but the Tunisian side has so far been unable to break through a determined Al-Swehly SC defence at Misrata Stadium.

Esperance sportive de Tunis have looked to take control of the match and create opportunities in the final third, although their attacking pressure has not yet produced a goal.

Al-Swehly SC, backed by home advantage, have focused on making life difficult for the Sang and Or while keeping the tie finely balanced ahead of the second half.

The goalless scoreline leaves everything to play for after the interval. Esperance sportive de Tunis will need to find more attacking options if they are to leave Libya with a positive result before the second leg.

That return fixture is scheduled for 24 October at Stade de Rades.
