Stade Rennais coach Franck Haise has reassured fans over the condition of Moroccan international Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal after the defender sustained a minor knock.
Haise provided the update during a press conference ahead of Rennes’ Ligue 1 clash against Paris FC on Sunday, insisting that there were no immediate concerns over the fitness of his squad.
The French tactician explained that while some players were undergoing recovery sessions, others took part in regular training as the club continued preparations for the encounter.
Addressing Ait Boudlal’s situation, Haise indicated that the Moroccan defender’s knock was not considered serious and had not prevented him from continuing his training activities.
The Rennes boss also highlighted the importance of carefully managing the players’ physical condition following two consecutive matches, with a demanding schedule of three games in a short period awaiting the team.
Haise stressed that the technical staff would continue monitoring the squad’s fitness levels to minimise the risk of further injuries as the campaign progresses.
Further medical assessments are expected to provide a clearer picture of the players’ conditions, but the initial indications regarding Ait Boudlal remain reassuring.
The update will come as a boost to Rennes as they prepare for their meeting with Paris FC, with the club hopeful that the young Moroccan defender will remain available for selection.
