Brahim Diaz could leave Real Madrid in January as playing time dwindles

Brahim Diaz’s future at Real Madrid is becoming increasingly uncertain, with a move during the January transfer window now a realistic possibility, according to Marca.

The Morocco international has made only four appearances this season, totalling 178 minutes, and has not played since 15 September. Most of his minutes came in two starts against Malaga and Inter Milan.

Since making a late appearance against Elche more than a month ago, Diaz has remained an unused substitute, including in matches when Real Madrid needed greater attacking options.

The 27-year-old’s position has become more difficult because of the emergence of Endrick. During Real Madrid’s 3-4 comeback against Roma in the Champions League, Jose Mourinho introduced several attacking players after his side fell 3-1 behind.

Endrick was used on the right, a position frequently occupied by Diaz, but the Morocco forward was left on the bench. Endrick responded with a goal and an energetic display which underlined his growing influence.

Injuries add to competition for places

Persistent physical problems have also restricted Diaz’s progress. He has been managing discomfort since the beginning of the season, making it harder for him to compete for minutes in a crowded attacking department.

Real Madrid’s options include Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler and Yan Diomande, all of whom are competing for opportunities in the forward positions.

With the winter transfer window approaching and Diaz’s involvement continuing to fall, a temporary or permanent departure from the Bernabeu is increasingly being considered.

His contract with Real Madrid runs until 30 June 2027. Africafoot reports that Fenerbahce are among the clubs interested in signing the Morocco forward.

Diaz’s estimated market value is €35m, while his annual salary is reported to be €7,290,000, equivalent to 4,738,500,000 FCFA.

Real Madrid’s next fixture is against Sevilla in the ninth round of the Spanish league. For that match, 1xbet lists Real Madrid at 1.20 to win, a draw at 5.80 and a Sevilla victory at 9.00.
