Shabab Al Ahli move top of UAE league after 2-0 win over Al Ain

Shabab Al Ahli Dubai moved to the top of the UAE league after beating Al Ain 2-0 in the sixth round of the competition.

Serdar Azmoun gave Shabab Al Ahli the lead in first-half stoppage time, scoring in the 45th minute plus one.

The home side doubled their advantage through Brazilian forward Kawan Santos, who finished after receiving a pass from fellow Brazilian Juan Bizera.

Bizera had entered the match as a substitute in the 13th minute and made an immediate impact by creating Shabab Al Ahli’s second goal. However, his involvement ended in the 66th minute when he was forced off with an injury.

Egypt defender and Al Ain player Rami Rabia completed the match for his side and was booked during the game.

The victory took Shabab Al Ahli to 13 points and lifted them to first place in the standings. They moved above Al Ain, Al Jazira and Al Wasl on goal difference.
