Leroy Sane exit rumours dismissed amid difficult Galatasaray spell

Leroy Sane is reportedly not planning to leave Galatasaray during the January transfer window, despite struggling to make an impact since the start of the new season.

The 30-year-old German winger has yet to register a goal or assist in nine appearances, accumulating 419 minutes across competitions. His disappointing return has fuelled speculation that the Turkish champions could consider ending his spell in Istanbul just months after his arrival.

However, according to Sky, there is currently no substance to the rumours linking Sané with a winter departure. A potential move to Saudi Arabia is also considered unlikely at this stage.

Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek continues to back Sane despite his disappointing start, and the club reportedly has no immediate plans to part ways with the winger. His performances have fallen short of expectations, but the Turkish side remain hopeful that he can rediscover his best form.

Sané joined Galatasaray on a free transfer from Bayern Munich in 2025 and signed a contract running until 2028. The German international recorded seven goals and nine assists in 52 competitive appearances for the Istanbul club, but his current campaign has yet to produce a goal contribution.
