CAF Champions League: FC San Pedro and FC Nouadhibou probable line-ups

FC San Pedro host FC Nouadhibou at Stade Laurent Pokou on Saturday, 17 October 2026, in the first leg of their second preliminary-round tie in the CAF Champions League.

The Ivorian side are expected to use a 4-3-3 formation, while the Mauritanian club could line up in a 4-2-3-1 as both teams look to take an advantage into the second leg.

FC San Pedro’s probable starting XI:

Boti; Adjoumani, Fofana, Toure, Diarra; Hamed Karamoko, Kassi Niamb, Famoussa; Alabi, Lamine, Kamate.

Playing at home, FC San Pedro could turn to an attacking structure designed to increase intensity in the wide areas and create more opportunities in the final third.

Lamine is expected to lead the line, with Alabi and Kamate likely to provide pace and direct attacking support from either side.

FC Nouadhibou’s probable starting XI:

Babacar Diop; Souleymane, El Abd, Mheimid, Dao; Mouhsine, Bodda; Sidi Bouna, Bessam, Yassin; Hemeya Tanjy.

FC Nouadhibou could use two holding midfielders to provide defensive protection, with Sidi Bouna, Bessam and Yassin operating behind Hemeya Tanjy in the attacking line.

Midfield battle could shape first leg

The contest in midfield may prove decisive in the opening match. FC San Pedro will aim to make full use of home advantage by putting pressure on the Mauritanian defence, while FC Nouadhibou will need to balance defensive organisation with a threat going forward.

The listed line-ups are provisional and have not been officially confirmed. The final starting elevens will be announced before kick-off.
