Amad Diallo determined to leave lasting legacy at Manchester United
Amad Diallo is determined to establish a lasting legacy at Manchester United as the Ivorian winger prepares to reach a significant milestone at Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old could make his 100th appearance for the Red Devils when they face Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday. Having joined United in January 2021 from Atalanta, Amad has progressed from a promising youngster to an increasingly important member of the first-team squad.
Ahead of the landmark occasion, the winger reflected on his ambitions and stressed that he wants supporters to remember his contribution positively long after his time at the club ends.
“I want to leave a legacy here in Manchester where people will say ‘we had this guy, he was crazy, he was unbelievable’,” Amad said.
The Ivory Coast international explained that talent alone would not be enough to satisfy him, insisting that he wants to demonstrate commitment and make the most of the opportunity to represent one of football’s biggest clubs.
“I don’t want to leave this club one day and have people say ‘oh no, he didn’t give enough… he had the talent, but he didn’t give enough’.”
Amad added that playing for Manchester United is a privilege he intends to repay through his performances and dedication.
“I want to give something that I know that I can give, because I have the privilege to play for Manchester United. I want to take that privilege and give something to the club.”
The winger also emphasised that he hopes to be remembered fondly whenever his United career eventually comes to an end.
“One day, if I leave this club, I want people to say good things about me,” he concluded.
With his 100th appearance potentially approaching, Amad will be eager to mark the occasion by helping United secure a positive result against their historic rivals.
