Bafana Bafana set for double-header against Benni McCarthy’s Kenya

Bafana Bafana will face Kenya at Orlando Stadium in Soweto on 13 November as part of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

The match will kick off at 18:00, with South Africa travelling to Nairobi four days later for the return fixture against the Harambee Stars, who are coached by South African legend Benni McCarthy.

South Africa lead Group D after making a strong start to qualification. They defeated Guinea 2-1 in Johannesburg before recording a 5-0 victory over Eritrea in Egypt.

Coach Pitso Mosimane’s side also secured a 1-0 win against Egypt in an international friendly in Cairo during the previous Fifa open window.

Those results helped South Africa climb to 48th in the Fifa world rankings. Bafana Bafana are currently ranked 10th in Africa.

Mosimane is expected to name his preliminary squad for the two matches next week.
