TS Galaxy reach agreement with Admir Adzem to become new head coach

TS Galaxy have reached an agreement with Admir Adzem to become their new head coach, with the final formalities expected to be completed shortly.

The 53-year-old Bosnian is set to replace Bernard Parker, who has parted ways with the club, after emerging as a leading candidate during Galaxy’s search for a successor.

The development was first reported by the Siya crew in edition 1496 of Soccer Laduma. A source close to the negotiations has now confirmed that the club and Adzem have agreed terms, with only the final administrative details still to be completed.

“An agreement has been reached with the coach, and the parties are just dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s. The club is excited to have identified a coach of his calibre and is confident that he will turn things around and improve the team’s results,” the source told the Siya crew.

Galaxy began looking for an experienced coach after a difficult start to the 2026/27 campaign. Chairman Tim Sukazi had previously said the club were assessing candidates who held a UEFA Pro licence.

Adzem’s appointment would continue Galaxy’s recent association with Bosnian coaches. The Rockets have previously worked with Sead Ramovic and Adnan Beganovic in recent seasons.

The club are currently being led on an interim basis by Esau Mtsweni, who took charge of the senior team for Tuesday evening’s match against Orlando Pirates.

Galaxy suffered a 3-0 defeat at the Orlando Amstel Arena, with Mtsweni remaining in temporary charge while the club finalised its agreement with Adzem.

Mtsweni set to return to DDC role

The Siya crew understands that Mtsweni is expected to return to his position with Galaxy’s DStv Diski Challenge team once the new head coach has formally taken over the senior side.

His spell as stand-in coach is therefore likely to end when Adzem’s appointment is completed and the Bosnian begins work with the first team.

The agreement places Galaxy close to ending their search for a permanent coach as they seek greater stability within the technical team and an improvement in their results in the Betway Premiership.
