Yan Diomande making a strong case for bigger role at Real Madrid

Yan Diomande is quickly establishing himself as an important attacking option for Real Madrid after an impressive run of form for the Spanish club.

The Cote d’Ivoire international has registered three decisive contributions in his past four starts, scoring once and providing two assists. His performances have strengthened the case for a greater role in the Real Madrid squad.

Diomande played 72 minutes against Rayo Vallecano and received a rating of 7.8/10. He then completed the entire match against Elche, where he supplied his first assist for Real Madrid and earned an 8.5/10 rating.

That display also highlighted his contribution away from the ball, with the youngster combining attacking intent with a willingness to support his team defensively.

Diomande scores first Real Madrid goal

The 86 minutes he played against Villarreal brought Diomande’s first goal for Real Madrid. His contribution helped secure victory, earned him an 8.1/10 rating and saw him named player of the match.

He continued that momentum against AS Roma, creating another goal during a 79-minute appearance. He was again rated 8.5/10.

Across his four starts, Diomande has played 327 minutes and holds an impressive average rating of 8.23/10. His goal and two assists mean he has directly contributed to a goal once every 109 minutes on average.

His pace, creativity and ability to influence matches have made an increasing impact, while his defensive work has added balance to his performances.

The Ivory Coast international’s progress comes as he competes for opportunities within a squad that also includes Brahim Diaz. Although his run of notable appearances remains relatively short, Diomande appears to be gaining ground at Real Madrid.

Long-term deal in Madrid

Diomande is contracted to Real Madrid until 30 June 2033 and is valued at 120 million euros.

That long-term commitment gives the player significant time to develop, while his recent performances have raised expectations around what he can achieve in the Spanish capital. The next challenge will be to sustain this level consistently and establish himself as one of the club’s key players.

Real Madrid will soon play their ninth league match of the Spanish championship against FC Sevilla.
