Al Ahly and Zamalek have each been fined 100,000 Egyptian pounds following crowd misconduct during their Egyptian Premier League derby on Sunday.
The Egyptian Professional Clubs Association also suspended Zamalek assistant coach Ibrahim Salah Abdel Fattah for one match and fined him 10,000 Egyptian pounds following his dismissal during the encounter.
Both clubs received official warnings and financial penalties over what the association described as collective insults directed by their supporters at fans of the opposing team.
The sanctions mean Al Ahly and Zamalek have been fined a combined 200,000 Egyptian pounds over the incidents surrounding the high-profile fixture.
Al Ahly defeated their Cairo rivals 2-0 at Cairo International Stadium on 11 October in the sixth round of the 2026-27 Egyptian Premier League season.
Mohamed Hany and Monsef scored the goals to secure all three points for the Red Devils.
The victory lifted Al Ahly to 16 points at the top of the league table, one point ahead of second-placed Pyramids, who have 15 points.
Zamalek remain third on 13 points after suffering defeat in the eagerly anticipated derby.
The disciplinary decisions come as both clubs continue their campaigns in a tightly contested title race, with Al Ahly looking to build on their derby success and Zamalek seeking to close the gap at the top.
