Iliman Ndiaye rues early goals in Manchester City defeat to PSG

Iliman Ndiaye believes Manchester City could have secured a positive result against Paris Saint-Germain had they avoided conceding three early goals in their 4-2 Champions League defeat at the Etihad Stadium.

The forward came on at half-time with City trailing 3-0 and helped the team produce a stronger second-half performance. Despite their improvement, the hosts were unable to overturn the deficit against the French champions.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, Ndiaye suggested the early goals proved decisive in determining the outcome.

“If we hadn’t conceded those three goals, we could have gone on to win the game,” he said.

Ndiaye explained that the instructions at the interval were to increase the intensity, attack more aggressively and take greater risks in an attempt to get back into the contest.

The forward was encouraged by City’s response after the break and believes their second-half display demonstrated what the team can achieve when playing with greater urgency.

“Take that second half performance, and I feel like we win any game,” he added.
