Pyramids rule out move for Al Ahly defender Mohamed Hany

Pyramids FC sporting director Hani Saeed has played down reports linking the Egyptian Premier League side with a move for Al Ahly right-back Mohamed Hany.

Hany’s contract with Al Ahly is due to expire on 30 June 2027, but Saeed says Pyramids have no immediate need to strengthen the position.

Speaking on Al-Nahar television, Saeed acknowledged the speculation but insisted that reports linking players nearing the end of their contracts with Pyramids were common.

“I heard about Mohamed Hany joining Pyramids, but it usually happens that many players whose contracts are about to expire are linked with a move to our team,” he said.

Saeed explained that Pyramids already have sufficient options at right-back, pointing to the continued presence of Mohamed Chibi and the signing of Khaled Awad.

“With all due respect to the names of these players, we have Al-Shaibi, whose contract is still valid, and we signed Khaled Awad. We have good reinforcements in the right-back position, and we do not need to sign a new right-back. This talk is not entirely true,” he added.

His comments suggest that Pyramids are unlikely to pursue Hany, despite the speculation surrounding the Al Ahly defender’s future.

Pyramids dismiss speculation over Marai and Lashin

Saeed also addressed reports linking Pyramids defenders Mahmoud Marai and Mohannad Lashin with a possible move to Al Ahly.

The sporting director dismissed the speculation, stressing that both players remain under contract with Pyramids beyond the end of the current season.

“Mahmoud Marai and Mohannad Lashin’s contracts are still ongoing with the club and will not end at the end of this season,” he said.

Saeed further emphasised the importance of the pair to the team, describing them as key members of the squad and indicating that the club would be reluctant to let them leave.

“Mahmoud Marai and Mohannad Lashin are key pillars of Pyramids FC and it is difficult to let them go,” he added.

Pyramids’ position reflects their intention to retain key players while maintaining stability within the squad, as speculation continues over potential transfers involving some of Egypt’s leading clubs.
