Magdy Abdelatty resigns as Abu Qir Fertilizers manager after fifth straight defeat

Magdy Abdelatty has resigned as manager of Abu Qir Fertilizers following the club’s 2-1 defeat by Asyut Petroleum in the sixth round of the league.

FilGoal.com understands that Abdelatty submitted his resignation after the latest result, which left Abu Qir Fertilizers struggling near the bottom of the table.

Abdelatty took charge of the club after replacing Amir Azmy Magdy, who had led Abu Qir Fertilizers to promotion to the Premier League.

The defeat was Abu Qir Fertilizers’ fifth in a row in the competition. They remain on three points and are 18th in the standings.

Asyut Petroleum, meanwhile, claimed their first victory of the current league season with the win. It was also their first success in all competitions this season, following two draws and four defeats in the league and Egypt Capital Cup.

The result moved Asyut Petroleum to five points and lifted them to 16th place.
