Juventus are monitoring Folarin Balogun’s situation at AS Monaco and could bring forward their plans to sign the United States international during the January transfer window, according to information reported by Ekrem Konur.
The Italian club had initially considered pursuing the 25-year-old striker during the summer, but Balogun’s uncertain position at Monaco may encourage Juventus to act sooner.
Balogun appeared close to joining Everton, with the English club prepared to pay 50 million euros for his services. However, the proposed transfer collapsed after a problem emerged during the medical examination process.
The failed move has left Balogun’s future on the French Riviera unclear. He has also been left out of Monaco’s squad registered to compete in the Conference League, adding to questions over his role in the club’s plans.
Juventus assessing the situation
Juventus are now following developments closely and could decide to make an approach when the January market opens. The circumstances surrounding Balogun may lead the Turin club to bring forward an investment that had originally been planned for the summer.
No agreement with Juventus has been announced, and it remains uncertain whether the Italian club will turn its interest into a formal offer. The terms under which AS Monaco would be prepared to negotiate are also yet to be established.
For Balogun, a move could provide an opportunity to revive his progress in a new environment. However, the collapse of the Everton transfer means his future is likely to remain a subject of discussion in the weeks leading up to the January transfer window.
Balogun is under contract with AS Monaco until June 2028. His current market value is estimated at 50 million euros, a figure that could play an important role in negotiations if Juventus decide to pursue the deal.
The striker earns an annual salary of 3,220,000 euros (2,093,000,000 FCFA) at AS Monaco.
Before the January window arrives, Monaco are due to play their seventh Ligue 1 match of the season against FC Lorient.
