Trabzonspor delayed at Finnish airport ahead of KuPS Conference League tie

Trabzonspor faced a lengthy delay at Tampere Airport after arriving in Finland for their UEFA Conference League meeting with KuPS.

The Turkish club will visit KuPS at 19:45 on Thursday in the opening round of the competition’s league phase.

According to Turkish outlet 61saat, Trabzonspor’s departure from the airport was held up because two officials arrived at the same time, slowing the completion of the team’s arrival procedures.

The travelling party was forced to wait longer than expected while the necessary paperwork was processed, creating congestion at the airport.

Trabzonspor eventually left Tampere more than an hour after arriving in Finland.

Manager Thomas Reis has named his squad for the match against KuPS, with Mohamed Salah included.

Trabzonspor dropped into the Conference League after losing 5-0 on aggregate to Hungarian side Ferencvarosi in the Europa League qualifying rounds.
