Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are monitoring Bayer Leverkusen forward Christian Kofane as interest in the 20-year-old Cameroon international grows in the Premier League.
The two English clubs are keeping a close watch on Kofane’s development and could soon make approaches for the striker, according to Ekrem Konur.
However, they face strong competition for his signature. Everton showed concrete interest during the summer transfer window in 2026 and submitted an offer worth 70 million euros. Bayer Leverkusen rejected that proposal, with the German club determined to retain the player.
Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are therefore likely to need significant financial resources and a convincing proposal if they are to persuade Leverkusen to consider a sale. The club appears unwilling to let Kofane leave easily, while his potential continues to attract growing attention across the European transfer market.
As exclusively reported by Africafoot, Bayer Leverkusen also want to secure the long-term future of the Cameroon forward.
Leverkusen hold strong negotiating position
Kofane is valued at 40 million euros by Transfermarkt, although that figure is below the 70 million euros Everton offered during the 2026 summer window.
The player remains under contract at Bayer Leverkusen until June 2029, placing the club in a strong negotiating position. Any move would therefore depend on whether Tottenham Hotspur or Aston Villa is prepared to submit an offer capable of changing the German club’s stance.
Kofane earns an annual salary of 660,000 euros, equivalent to 429,000,000 FCFA.
Bayer Leverkusen will soon play their second-day fixture in the Europa League against Lech Poznan. Betting company 1xbet lists Bayer Leverkusen as favourites, with a price of 1.56 for a home win. A draw is priced at 4.10, while a Lech Poznan victory is listed at 4.40.
