Al Ahly offer Mohamed Hany half-season salary payment in bid to extend contract
Al Ahly have offered Mohamed Hany half of his first-season salary upfront as the Egyptian giants step up efforts to secure a contract extension for the right-back.
The Egyptian giants are keen to reach an agreement with the 30-year-old, whose current deal is due to expire at the end of the 2026/27 season.
According to reports, Al Ahly have included the partial salary payment in their proposal as they seek to convince Hany to commit his future to the Cairo-based club.
A meeting is expected in the coming hours to discuss the outstanding details and potentially reach an agreement over a new contract.
Hany has been with Al Ahly since 2015 and remains an important figure in the team, prompting the club to prioritise negotiations over his future.
Meanwhile, Turkish media reports have previously linked the defender with a possible move to Trabzonspor, with Liverpool and Egypt star Mohamed Salah reportedly recommending the player to the Turkish club.
However, Al Ahly are working to conclude the renewal negotiations and keep the experienced right-back at the club beyond the current campaign.
