Both legs of the CAF Champions League second preliminary-round tie between 15 de Agosto and Simba SC will be played in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, instead of Cameroon.

The decision means the two sides will meet at a neutral venue as they battle for a place in the group stage of the 2026/27 CAF Champions League.

Simba SC, one of Tanzania’s leading clubs, will have the advantage of playing in familiar surroundings, while Equatorial Guinea’s 15 de Agosto will have to adapt to conditions away from home.

The two-legged tie is a crucial stage in the competition, with the winner guaranteed a place in the group stage and an opportunity to compete against some of Africa’s leading clubs.

For both teams, qualification would represent an important step in their continental campaigns, with the group stage offering the prospect of further competition, greater exposure and the chance to challenge for African football’s premier club title.

The decision to stage both matches in Dar es Salaam means neither side will have the traditional advantage of hosting a game on its home ground.

Further details, including the dates and kick-off times for the two matches, are yet to be provided.
