Yanga and CFFA to play both CAF Champions League ties in Tanzania

Young Africans SC will host both legs of their CAF Champions League tie against Madagascar’s CFFA at the Azam Complex in Tanzania after their opponents failed to secure a suitable stadium for the fixture.

The arrangement means the two sides will play both their home and away matches at the same venue, removing the usual advantage of playing in front of a home crowd during the second leg.

CFFA’s inability to provide a stadium that meets the required standards has forced the Malagasy club to stage both matches in Tanzania, giving Yanga the opportunity to play on familiar ground across the two-legged contest.

The tie carries significant importance for both clubs, with the winner over the two legs earning qualification for the CAF Champions League group stage.

For Yanga, reaching the group stage would represent another important step in their continental campaign as they seek to establish themselves among Africa’s leading club sides.

The Tanzanian giants will look to make the most of their familiarity with the Azam Complex, although they must remain focused across both matches to secure progression.

CFFA, meanwhile, face the challenge of competing away from their home country for both legs. Despite the logistical disadvantage, the Malagasy side will be determined to produce a strong performance and keep their hopes of reaching the group stage alive.

With a place in the group stage at stake, the outcome of the two matches will determine which club advances to the next phase of Africa’s premier club competition.
