Achraf Hakimi sets Paris Saint-Germain record in Le Mans victory

Achraf Hakimi became the most-capped foreign full-back in Paris Saint-Germain history after starting against Le Mans in Saturday’s Ligue 1 fixture.

The Morocco international made his 215th official appearance for the club, moving ahead of former Paris Saint-Germain defender Maxwell, who played 214 competitive matches for the French side.

The milestone was recorded by Stats Foot on X. Its post said: “Achraf Hakimi (215 appearances) will become the most-capped foreign full-back of @PSG_inside in official competition ahead of Maxwell.”

Hakimi’s latest appearance came in the sixth round of the French league, with Paris Saint-Germain sixth in the table on eight points. Their total has come from two wins and a draw, while they have suffered one defeat.

The 27-year-old joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021, moving from Inter Milan. Since arriving in France, he has scored 28 goals and provided 44 assists for the club, according to Transfermarkt data.

His appearance against Le Mans gave him a place on his own in the club’s record books, surpassing the mark set by Brazilian full-back Maxwell.
