Morocco mourns the loss of one of its legendary goalkeepers, Allal Benkassou, who passed away on October 29 in Rabat at the age of 72. Benkassou had an illustrious football career, representing Morocco between 1964 and 1974. He took part in significant competitions, including the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, the 1970 World Cup in Mexico, and the 1972 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon. Benkassou earned over 116 caps for the national team, playing in more than 500 matches. After retiring as a player, he remained involved in football, coaching goalkeepers for FAR and later becoming a coach for clubs like Ittihad Khemisset and Moghreb de Tétouan. In 1995, he returned to FAR. Morocco remembers him as a true football icon.
