Michael Olise wanted by Real Madrid and FC Barcelona as Bayern Munich plan major pay rise

Michael Olise has no intention of returning to the Premier League, but Real Madrid and FC Barcelona could still challenge Bayern Munich’s plans to keep the France international in Germany.

The 24-year-old, who is of Nigerian origin, is settled at Bayern Munich and is understood to be open to extending his stay. However, reports from TEAMtalk suggest the two Spanish giants are the only clubs currently capable of seriously changing the course of his future.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City have all maintained an interest in Olise, but a move back to England is not currently on his agenda. Sources close to the player, cited by TEAMtalk, say he has little desire to return to the Premier League despite speculation linking him with a possible switch to Liverpool.

The three English clubs continue to monitor developments, although they have reportedly received few encouraging indications that Olise would be willing to join them.

Bayern Munich ready to offer lucrative terms

Bayern Munich are determined to secure the winger’s long-term future and believe they have one of the world’s leading attacking players in their squad.

The German club would be prepared to offer Olise a highly lucrative new contract, with financial terms close to those being considered for Harry Kane. According to TEAMtalk, the principle of an extension for England striker Kane has already been agreed, with his salary expected to be around 500,000 euros per week.

Bayern would be willing to offer Olise a similar level of remuneration in an attempt to persuade him to continue his career at the Allianz Arena.

Real Madrid and FC Barcelona could nonetheless provide the biggest threat to those plans. Both clubs are reported to have made it known to Olise’s representatives that they would consider making a move if the right conditions emerged.

A transfer to La Liga would appeal to Olise in a different way from a return to England, according to the information reported by TEAMtalk. That could make the Spanish clubs a serious concern for Bayern Munich, even though the player remains open to renewing his contract.

Paris Saint-Germain, who have previously been linked with Olise, are not planning to sign the winger at this stage.

Impressive record in Germany

Olise has continued to develop since leaving Crystal Palace, and his output has attracted attention from several of Europe’s leading clubs.

He has recorded 108 goal contributions in 114 appearances for Bayern Munich, scoring 50 goals and providing 58 assists. Those figures have strengthened Bayern’s determination to retain him for the long term.

For now, the indications remain that Olise will stay in Germany. If he does decide to consider a departure, however, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona appear to be the two clubs most likely to alter the situation.

Bayern Munich will soon play their fifth match of the German championship season against Augsburg.
