Henry Onyekuru linked with Bursaspor move after leaving Genclerbirligi

Nigeria winger Henry Onyekuru, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Turkish 1. Lig side Bursaspor.

The 29-year-old left Genclerbirligi on 12 July 2026, having joined the club from Saudi Pro League side Al-Fayha in July 2025. He is now being mentioned in connection with a return to Turkey, where Bursaspor compete in the country’s second tier.

Onyekuru plays as a left winger and is predominantly right-footed. He has made 100 appearances in the Turkish top flight, scoring 28 goals and providing 14 assists.

His previous time in Turkey included spells with Galatasaray and Adana Demirspor. He joined Galatasaray on loan from Everton in July 2018 before making the move permanent the following year, helping the club win the Turkish league and cup during the 2018-19 season.

Onyekuru later moved to Monaco, initially on loan in January 2020, before returning to Galatasaray on another temporary deal in January 2021. He joined Olympiacos permanently in August 2021 and won the Greek title with the club in 2022.

His current market value is listed at €800,000. Onyekuru remains without a club as speculation links him with Bursaspor.
