Chiko Banza has arrived in Cairo after representing Angola during the international break, with the Zamalek forward due to join his team-mates in training on Friday evening ahead of Sunday’s Egyptian Premier League derby against Al Ahly.

Zamalek are preparing to face Al Ahly in the sixth round of the league season. Banza is expected to take part in the club’s evening session after returning from international duty.

His arrival follows the return of Palestine internationals Adi Dabagh and Adam Kaied, who have already joined Zamalek’s training camp for the derby.

Dabagh impressed for Palestine during the international break, featuring in three matches, scoring four goals and providing one assist. Before those games, the leading scorer in Palestine’s history had recorded two assists for Zamalek in the league.

Kaied started one match for Palestine and came on as a substitute in two others. He is still waiting for his first goal involvement for Zamalek this season.

Banza came on as a substitute in Angola’s match against Egypt and was an unused substitute in his country’s victory over Malawi on 6 October.

The Angolan has made four league appearances for Zamalek this season, scoring once and setting up another goal.

Zamalek, managed by head coach Moataz Gamal, are currently holding a five-day closed training camp before the derby.

The club’s most recent match ended in a 3-0 defeat by ZED after the coaching staff chose to rest first-team players and give opportunities to youngsters born in 2007 and 2009 in the Egypt Capital Cup.

Zamalek are second in the Egyptian Premier League on 13 points, level with Al Ahly but ahead on goal difference. Pyramids lead the table with 15 points.
