Gianni Infantino holds talks with new GFF President Kemo Ceesay at CAF Strategy Conference
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has met new Gambia Football Federation (GFF) President Kemo Ceesay on the sidelines of the CAF Strategy Conference in Cabo Verde, with discussions focusing on football development and opportunities for young players across the region.
Infantino shared details of the meeting on his official Instagram account, describing the engagement as an opportunity to discuss their shared commitment to developing the game and strengthening pathways for young footballers.
“We had a productive discussion on our shared efforts to develop the game and provide more opportunities for young players in the region,” Infantino wrote.
The FIFA president also expressed his desire to maintain close cooperation with the GFF to support the continued growth of football in The Gambia and across Africa.
“I look forward to continuing our close cooperation with @the_gff_official to ensure a bright future for football in The Gambia and across the continent,” he added.

The meeting comes as Ceesay begins his tenure as head of Gambian football, offering an opportunity to engage with FIFA leadership on the federation’s priorities and the development of the sport in the West African nation.
