Yasin Ayari’s Brighton future in doubt as European interest grows

Yasin Ayari’s future at Brighton is increasingly uncertain, with the Swedish midfielder of Tunisian origin approaching the final months of his contract and attracting interest from several European clubs.

Ayari’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, creating the possibility that he could leave Brighton as a free agent. Newcastle, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico de Madrid and Fenerbahce are understood to have made enquiries about the player ahead of the winter transfer window.

According to information from Ekrem Konur, representatives of all four clubs have contacted Ayari’s entourage to establish the conditions for a possible move. Other sides are also reportedly monitoring the situation, suggesting there could be significant competition for his signature.

The interest reflects the growing attention Ayari has received as his performances have gradually attracted notice beyond England. The midfielder now faces an important decision over the next stage of his career, with several ambitious European clubs appearing ready to explore a deal.

Brighton still pursuing a new contract

Despite the interest from elsewhere, Brighton have not given up hope of keeping Ayari. Talks are reportedly taking place between the club and the player over a contract extension.

Brighton are keen to avoid losing the midfielder without receiving a transfer fee and remain committed to a player whose potential is considered to be not yet fully realised. Extending his stay would allow the club to continue working with Ayari while protecting its position should his value increase in the future.

The final decision, however, will rest with the player. Ayari remains open to the possibility of continuing his development at Brighton, but he is also prepared to consider taking on a new challenge elsewhere.

With the end of his contract approaching, he must weigh the benefits of remaining in a familiar environment against the opportunity to join one of the clubs now showing interest in him. Newcastle, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico de Madrid and Fenerbahce have all emerged as possible destinations, while further enquiries could lead to the situation developing quickly.

Brighton will hope their discussions over a renewal can persuade Ayari that his progress is best served by staying at the club. The midfielder, though, is now in a position to assess options beyond England as he considers whether to extend his time on the south coast or begin a new chapter in his career.
