The Court of Arbitration for Sport opened its hearing in Lausanne on Thursday to examine the CAN 2025 final, with Senegal expressing confidence after both parties presented their cases.
The country’s football federation put forward its arguments during the session, which was attended by representatives of both sides. Speaking to RMC Sport after the hearing, Senegalese Football Federation Secretary General Abdoulaye Sow said the nation had made its position clear.
“Our lawyers presented our case, submitted all our observations and were heard by the arbitration panel. It is now up to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to issue its decision in the coming days or weeks,” Sow said.
He added that he could not comment on the substance of the discussions because the deliberations were confidential, but insisted Senegal had defended its position effectively.
“I cannot say what really happened, because the deliberations are secret. But I can assure you that Senegal defended itself well,” he said.
No details were released about the content of the arguments heard during the session. The Court of Arbitration for Sport will now consider the case before announcing its decision.
